About Stone Boat Farm Bed and Breakfast
Owner/Operators: Joseph and Jeffrey
Being from Connecticut and Jeffrey from Alabama, and having lived in Houston, Texas for over 15 years we fell in love with Southern Vermont, the people and all that it has to offer during previous trips. The Stone Boat Farms rich history from being a family farm, then the Jo-Mary Motel and most recently turned into its current state in 2012 is what we are excited to share with our guests.
The Green Mountains offer camping, hiking trails and incredible fly fishing of rivers, streams, lakes and ponds in the area. Events year round at the various mountains and seasonal arts and crafts shows. And if you want a break from the outdoor activities, the abundance of not only local attractions but restaurants and shopping for all tastes are available.
You may wonder why we called it the "Stone Boat Farm?" Well, during the last century simple sleds consisting of iron skids and wood were built here to transport boulders and stones for the farmers and homesteaders in the region, thus the name. The remains of these historic artifacts can be found in the woods around our farmhouse.
Our combined vision for the Stone Boat Farm is one that mirrors our own way of living. We want to provide our guests a "home away from home" experience, a place to relax after a day of outdoor activities, whether sports or shopping related.
Each of us have been involved in service related and product development/design industries for many years and are excited to share with you, our valued guest, an experience we hope you will enjoy.
We look forward to welcoming you to the Stone Boat Farm and Southern Vermont!
